Application Fields
  • LEO Satellite Communications Industry: Ground station equipment R&D and verification, inter-satellite handover testing, and communication protocol interoperability validation.
  • 5G/6G Mobile Communications Testing: OTA RF signal measurement, high-speed network performance testing, and wireless channel simulation verification, extensible to Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) integration testing.
  • Aerospace and Defense Communications Systems: End-to-end system-level testing of satellite communication links, covering Doppler compensation, beam switching, and handover latency verification, applicable to quality assurance for both military and commercial satellite communication systems.
Technology Available for Transfer
  • LEO Satellite Handover Testing System and Method
  • Realistic Scenario Simulation: Integrates channel effect simulation (Doppler effect, high latency) to produce test results closely reflecting real-world conditions within an anechoic chamber.
  • Multiple Handover Trigger Conditions: Supports four trigger types — measurement-based, position-based, time-based, and elevation-angle-based triggers between source and target satellites.
  • Comprehensive Handover Performance KPIs: Covers SINR, Radio Link Failure & Handover Failure, Time in Stay & Time to Outage, and Unnecessary Handover & Ping-Pong metrics.
  • Enhanced Testing Efficiency: Leverages satellite orbit models to pre-calculate path loss, coverage duration, and elevation angles, significantly reducing the time required to trigger handover testing.
Technology in Development
